Hosted by Connecting Up, the event recognises not-for-profits and those within the private sector who contribute to the not-for-profit sector for their positive impact in the world of technology.
This year’s awards which will take place in Melbourne on Thursday, May 6, will have 8 categories that anyone can nominate for including, ‘Technology Volunteer of the year’, ‘Not-for-Profit Technology Lifetime Service Award’, ‘Best Social Media Campaign of the Year’, ‘Not-for-Profit Technology Innovator of the Year’, Technology for Community Impact Award-Best Private Sector Organisation’, Technology for Community Impact Award-Best Government Agency’, ‘Best Technology Achievement by an Indigenous Australian’ and ‘Best Accidental IT Person’.
Previous winners at the event include the low-cost ticketing sales platform, Humanitix and Orange Sky Australia who provide free mobile laundry services to those experiencing homelessness. Both organisations were recognised as the ‘Not-For-Profit Technology Innovator of the Year’ at last year’s awards.
The Victorian Government also won big last year thanks to their work with the Digital Innovation Festival.
