The Ngrragoonda Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (NAC) was established as a result of the two native title consent determinations of the Gudjala People in March of 2014. The Gudjala People are the recognised traditional owners of approximately 10,617 square kilometers of land across the Regional Shire Councils of Etheridge, Flinders, and Charters Towers.

Gudjala People Limited (GPL) is a subsidiary company of NAC. GPL was established to be the corporate arm responsible for the delivery of services including the development of opportunities, and the overall management of people resources, including the management of the Gudjala ranger program.

We seek an astute CEO to join us in this exciting next chapter for theGudjalaPeople.

This role is based in Charters Towers to work collectively and collaboratively for a local thriving sustainable future for the Gudjalapeople, country, and culture.

Key Objectives:

  • Strategic thinking and translation of strategy to outcomes.

A key component of this role will be the identification and action of opportunities in line with the strategic priorities of the organisation and its aligned entities.

  • Partnership and collaboration.

This role will be the key representative delivering outcomes through relationships with both internal and external stakeholder management.

  • Demonstrating integrity through leadership and actions.

Highly emotional intelligence will enable the CEO to demonstrate leadership and cultural competency, which we anticipate will deliver greater engagement and participation.

Description

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Responsibility for the oversight of Government programs of work.
  • Collaborate and uncover further opportunities to promote the Industry Participation of Aboriginal and Torrens Strait Islander People.
  • Build and lead a small team of dedicated team members to achieve outcomes.
  • Ensure Governance, Risk Management, and Quality Assurance standards are achieved.
  • Oversight of Financial Management and records keeping, ensuring compliance and sustainability.
  • Develop and maintain modern and contemporary capability statements.
  • Provide leadership advice and direction as it pertains to the Native Title Act 1993 & Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003.
  • Linking the operational arm (Gudjula People Limited) to the Ngrragoonda Aboriginal Corporation by reporting to the NAC Board and becoming a preferred supplier of resources in line with the Commonwealth Indigenous Procurement Policy.
