In August each year, Meals on Wheels (MOW) celebrate their contribution to the community, with 2014 being their 61st year. The organisation started in 1953 with meals being delivered by one woman on a tricycle and today 14 million meals are delivered to almost 60,000 people each day across Australia. MOW also acknowledges the 75,000 volunteers that contribute to the organisation and provide daily contact to many of their clients.
