Four-Yearly Review of Modern Awards: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010

On 21October 2019, the Fair Work Commission issued a determination varying the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.

As of 1 July 2020, casual employees will be paid the casual loading in addition to the Saturday and Sunday rates, overtime rates and public holiday rates.

Casual employees who work weekends will be paid 175 per cent of the ordinary rate of pay between midnight Friday and midnight Saturday and 225 per cent of the ordinary rate of pay between midnight Saturday and midnight Sunday.

Casual employees who work overtime will be paid 175 per cent for all overtime worked at the rate of time and a half and 225 per cent for all overtime worked at the rate of double time.

Casual employees who work public holidays will be paid 275 per cent of the ordinary rate of pay for hours worked on a public holiday.

These rates are inclusive of the casual loading.

Currently, casual employees under this Award do not receive the casual loading when working weekends, overtime and public holidays and are paid the ordinary rate of pay plus the relevant penalty.

This determination will take effect from the start of the first full pay period commencing on or after 1July 2020.
