The ACNC have just released two new reports.
The first, titled ‘Australian Charities Involved Overseas’, is based on data from the 2013 Annual Information Statements and notes that approximately 15% of all Australian charities reported some involvement overseas. Australian charities operated in more than 200 countries with regional neighbours Indonesia, the Philippines and India amongst the most common. The report paints an interesting picture of Australian charities and the nature of their contributions overseas.
The second report is on public trust and confidence in the charity sector. It is a biennial report based on interviews, focus groups and an online survey with members of the public, and provides a view of the charity sector from the outside. It identifies some of the main drivers of trust and confidence, as well as the public’s biggest concerns.
