Australia has been ranked one of the most generous nations in the World Giving Index by the UK-based Charities Aid Fund.
Australia came in fourth behind the US, Myanmar and New Zealand.
The report used ten years’ worth of surveys that asked people across 128 countries if they had helped a stranger, given money or volunteered for a good cause.
Despite ranking fourth in the World Giving Index, a QUT study revealed tax-deductible donations claimed by Australians was less impressive.
